Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan program keterampilan dalam upaya pengembangan diri anak berkebutuhan khusus di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) ABCD Yayasan Suka Dharma Polokarto. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh pentingnya program keterampilan sebagai sarana untuk membantu siswa memahami potensi diri, meningkatkan kemandirian, serta membekali mereka dengan kemampuan praktis yang relevan dengan kebutuhan hidup sehari-hari. Program keterampilan dipandang sebagai bentuk intervensi pendidikan yang berfungsi memperkuat kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi tantangan di masa depan, baik dalam konteks sosial, emosional, maupun vokasional.&#13;
Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, yaitu mendeskripsikan bagaimana pelaksanaan program keterampilan tata boga dalam upaya pengembangan diri pada anak berkebutuhan khusus di Sekolah Luar Biasa ABCD Yayasan Suka Dharma Polokarto. Teknik Pengumpulan data wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara dan observasi di lapangan, sedangkan data sekunder berasal dari dokumentasi di Instagram @slb.abcd.ysd.polokarto dan dokumentasi hasil karya di lapangan. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data serta penarikan kesimpulan.&#13;
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan program keterampilan di SLB ABCD YSD Polokarto dilakukan melalui tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi yang terstruktur. Program keterampilan terbukti berpengaruh positif terhadap perkembangan kognitif, sosial-emosional, kemandirian, kreativitas, dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah anak berkebutuhan khusus. Meskipun demikian, pelaksanaan program masih menghadapi beberapa kendala seperti keterbatasan sarana prasarana, perbedaan kemampuan siswa, serta kurangnya tenaga pendidik yang memiliki kompetensi vokasional khusus. Secara keseluruhan, program keterampilan berperan penting dalam mendukung pengembangan diri dan kesiapan hidup siswa berkebutuhan khusus.&#13;

This study aims to describe the implementation of the skills program as an effort to support the self-development of children with special needs at SLB ABCD Yayasan Suka Dharma Polokarto. The background of this research is based on the importance of vocational skills programs as a means to help students understand their potential, increase independence, and equip them with practical abilities relevant to daily life. Such programs are viewed as educational interventions that strengthen students’ readiness to face future challenges, whether in social, emotional, or vocational contexts.&#13;
This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, which focuses on describing how the culinary skills program is implemented to enhance the self-development of children with special needs at SLB ABCD Yayasan Suka Dharma Polokarto. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. Primary data were obtained through field interviews and observations, while secondary data were collected from documentation posted on the Instagram account @slb.abcd.ysd.polokarto and documentation of students’ works. Data analysis techniques involved data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.&#13;
The findings show that the skills program at SLB ABCD YSD Polokarto is implemented through structured stages consisting of planning, implementation, and evaluation. The program has been proven to positively influence the cognitive, social-emotional, independent, creative, and problem-solving development of children with special needs. However, several challenges were identified, including limited facilities, diverse student abilities, and a shortage of educators with specific vocational competencies. Overall, the skills training program plays a crucial role in supporting the self-development and life readiness of students with special needs.&#13;
