Kehidupan di pesantren menuntut santriwati baru untuk menyesuaikan diri &#13;
dengan peraturan yang ketat, jadwal yang padat, serta suasana sosial yang berbeda &#13;
dari lingkungan asalnya. Hal ini menuntut santriwati mampu beradaptasi dengan &#13;
lingkungan dan rutinitas yang padat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan &#13;
bagaimana proses penyesuaian diri santriwati baru tingkat MTs dalam mengikuti &#13;
kegiatan di Pondok Pesantren Terpadu Al-Mutawally.  &#13;
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode &#13;
fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara semi &#13;
struktur, observasi partisipan, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari empat &#13;
informan utama yang merupakan santriwati kelas VII MTs yang telah tinggal di &#13;
pesantren selama satu tahun, serta dua informan tambahan dari pihak pengurus. &#13;
Teknik analisis data menggunakan pendekatan Interpretative Phenomenological &#13;
Analysis (IPA) dan dibantu dengan perangkat lunak Atlas.ti. &#13;
Hasil penelitian  bahwa penyesuaian diri santriwati baru ditandai oleh lima &#13;
aspek utama. Pertama, culture shock, yakni perasaan kaget dan bingung yang &#13;
dialami santriwati saat pertama kali menghadapi lingkungan pesantren yang baru &#13;
dan berbeda. Kedua, manajemen waktu, berupa upaya santriwati dalam &#13;
menyesuaikan jadwal harian yang padat antara kegiatan pesantren dan sekolah. &#13;
Ketiga, dukungan sosial, yaitu peran teman sebaya, pengurus, dan keluarga dalam &#13;
membantu proses adaptasi. Keempat, tekanan senioritas, berupa rasa tertekan dari &#13;
santri senior. Kelima, kepatuhan terhadap peraturan, mencerminkan bagaimana &#13;
santriwati belajar mengikuti aturan yang berlaku sebagai bentuk penyesuaian diri. &#13;
Terdapat faktor yang mempengaruhi proses ini meliputi faktor internal seperti &#13;
kesiapan mental, motivasi pribadi, dan pengalaman sebelumnya, serta faktor &#13;
eksternal seperti tekanan sosial, peraturan pondok, dan dukungan dari lingkungan &#13;
sekitar. aktor-faktor ini berperan sebagai penghambat sekaligus pendukung dalam &#13;
membentuk kemampuan adaptif santriwati selama masa awal tinggal di pesantren. &#13;
Proses penyesuaian ini mencerminkan dinamika perkembangan psikologis remaja &#13;
perempuan, di mana kebutuhan akan kestabilan emosi, pencarian identitas diri, serta &#13;
hubungan sosial yang aman menjadi kunci dalam membentuk strategi adaptasi &#13;
terhadap lingkungan baru. &#13;

ABSTRACT &#13;
Sinta Tayus Wijaya (211141003). Self-Adjustment of New Female MTs &#13;
Students in Participating in Activities at the Integrated Islamic Boarding &#13;
School Al-Mutawally. Undergraduate Thesis, Islamic Psychology, State &#13;
Islamic University Raden Mas Said Surakarta, 2025. &#13;
Life in a pesantren requires new female students (santriwati) to adjust to &#13;
strict rules, a demanding daily schedule, and a social environment that differs &#13;
significantly from their previous experiences. This situation necessitates that &#13;
santriwati develop the ability to adapt to both a structured environment and &#13;
intensive routines. This study aims to explore how new santriwati at the MTs level &#13;
experience the adjustment process while participating in daily activities at Pondok &#13;
Pesantren Terpadu Al-Mutawally. &#13;
This research employed a qualitative approach using a phenomenological &#13;
method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant &#13;
observation, and documentation. The primary subjects of this study were four &#13;
female students in the seventh grade of MTs who had lived in the pesantren for one &#13;
year, along with two additional informants from the pesantren administration. Data &#13;
analysis was conducted using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) &#13;
approach with the assistance of Atlas.ti software. &#13;
The results of the study showed that the adjustment of new female students &#13;
was characterized by five main aspects. First, culture shock, which is the feeling of &#13;
surprise and confusion experienced by female students when they first face a new &#13;
and different boarding school environment. Second, time management, in the form &#13;
of female students' efforts to adjust their busy daily schedules between boarding &#13;
school and school activities. Third, social support, which is the role of peers, &#13;
administrators, and family in helping the adaptation process. Fourth, seniority &#13;
pressure, in the form of feeling pressured or afraid of the treatment or expectations &#13;
of senior students. Fifth, compliance with regulations, reflects how female students &#13;
learn to follow the applicable rules as a form of adjustment. Factors that influence &#13;
this process include internal factors such as mental readiness, personal motivation, &#13;
and previous experience, as well as external factors such as social pressure, &#13;
boarding school regulations, and support from the surrounding environment. These &#13;
factors act as both obstacles and supporters in shaping the adaptive abilities of &#13;
female students during their early days at the boarding school. This adjustment &#13;
process reflects the dynamics of the psychological development of adolescent girls, &#13;
where the need for emotional stability, the search for self-identity, and safe social &#13;
relationships are key in forming adaptation strategies to a new environment. &#13;
