Penelitian ini mengkaji QS An-Nisa ayat 34 yang dipahami sebagai penegasan bahwa laki-laki adalah pemimpin bagi perempuan. Penafsiran terhadap ayat ini sering kali mengarah pada dominasi patriarki. Asma Barlas, seorang feminis yang melakukan pembacaan ulang terhadap ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an, menolak pemahaman tersebut. Penelitian ini akan menjawab dua rumusan masalah yaitu bagaimana penafsiran Asma Barlas terhadap QS An-Nisa ayat 34 dan bagaimana konsep kepemimpinan berdasarkan penafsiran tersebut?&#13;
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research).  Jenis penelitian yaitu kualitatif dengan menggunakan teori hermeneutika Hans Georg Gadamer untuk menganalisis penafsiran Asma Barlas. Pada bagian analisis, Asbabunnuzul juga digunakan sebagai alat bantu untuk menganalisis penafsiran Asma Barlas terhadap QS An-Nisa ayat 34. Data dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi berupa buku, jurnal, artikel, dan catatan yang berkaitan dengan topik penelitian. Adapun langkah-langkahnya yaitu mengumpulkan literatur terkait perspektif tafsir feminis dan perspektif Asma Barlas tentang kepemimpinan dalam QS An-Nisa ayat 34. Setelah data terkumpul, penulis menganalisis  data dan membuat kesimpulan.&#13;
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan dalam QS An-Nisa ayat 34 perspektif Asma Barlas yaitu kepemimpinan yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai keadilan dan kesetaraan, serta mendorong partisipasi aktif perempuan dalam pengambilan keputusan. Istilah “qawwamun” seharusnya dipahami sebagai tanggung jawab untuk melindungi dan memelihara perempuan dengan memberi nafkah, bukan sebagai dominasi. Kata “idribuu” ditafsirkan sebagai “memberi contoh” dan bukan “memukul”, yang menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kekerasan dalam menghadapi nusyuz istri tidak dibenarkan. Maka konsep kepemimpinan berdasarkan penafsiran Asma Barlas terhadap QS An-Nisa ayat 34 yaitu kepemimpinan yang inklusif, berbasis tanggung jawab, adil, dan empatik. &#13;

This research examines QS An-Nisa verse 34, which is understood as an affirmation that men are leaders of women. The interpretation of this verse often leads to patriarchal dominance. Asma Barlas, a Muslim feminist who reinterprets the verses of the Qur’an, rejects that understanding. This research will address two questions: how does Asma Barlas interpret QS An-Nisa verse 34, and what is the concept of leadership based on that interpretation? &#13;
This research is library research. The type of research is qualitative, using Hans Georg Gadamer’s hermeneutic theory to analyze Asma Barlas’s interpretation. In the analysis section, Asbabunnuzul is also used as a tool to analyze Asma Barlas' interpretation of Surah An-Nisa, verse 34. Documentation pertaining to the research topic, including books, journals, papers, and notes, was used to gather data. The procedures include gathering literature on the feminist interpretation viewpoint and Asma Barlas’s leadership viewpoint in Surah An-Nisa verse 34. Following data collection, the author conducted analysis and came to findings. &#13;
The research results show that leadership in QS An-Nisa verse 34 from Asma Barlas’s perspective is leadership that reflects the values of justice and equality and encourages the active participation of women in decision-making. The term “qawwamun” should be understood as the responsibility to protect and maintain women, not as domination. Barlas also interprets the word “idribuu” as “setting an example” and not “hitting,” which indicates that the use of violence in dealing with a wife’s disobedience is not justified. As for the concept of leadership based on Asma Barlas’s interpretation of QS An-Nisa verse 34, it is inclusive leadership based on responsibility, fairness, and empathy. Male leaders are expected to be aware of their responsibilities and to apply the principle of justice in every action and decision. &#13;
