Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena berkembangnya tafsir Al Qur’an secara lisan melalui media digital, khususnya YouTube, yang menjadi sarana efektif dalam menyampaikan pesan-pesan keagamaan secara kontekstual dan komunikatif, seperti yang dilakukan oleh Ustadz Musthafa Umar dalam channel Kajian Tafsir Al-Ma’rifah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penafsiran lisan terhadap Q.S. An-Nur ayat 32–34 yang disampaikan oleh Ustadz Musthafa Umar melalui channel YouTube Kajian Tafsir Al-Ma’rifah. Fokus kajian diarahkan pada pemahaman ayat-ayat tersebut dalam konteks pernikahan, kesucian diri, dan penghormatan terhadap Al-Qur’an, serta bagaimana penyampaian lisan dikonstruksi dalam era digital. Menganalisis unsur-unsur kelisanan yang digagas oleh Walter J. Ong yang muncul dalam penyampaian tafsir tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan library research dengan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori kelisanan Walter J. Ong. Teori ini digunakan untuk menganalisis unsur-unsur kelisanan yang muncul dalam penyampaian tafsir tersebut. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik dokumentasi, yaitu dengan mengumpulkan sumber primer berupa video tafsir surat An-Nur ayat 32-34 oleh Musthafa Umar dan sumber sekunder berupa buku, jurnal dan artikel yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penafsiran Musthafa Umar mencerminkan unsur kelisanan sekunder, seperti gaya naratif, penggunaan pengulangan, pendekatan kontekstual, dan interaksi emosional dengan audiens. Penafsiran beliau juga berupaya menjembatani teks Al-Qur’an dengan realitas sosial masyarakat modern, seperti isu penundaan pernikahan karena faktor ekonomi. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya tafsir lisan sebagai medium dakwah yang efektif di platform digital, serta memberikan kontribusi terhadap studi tafsir kontemporer dan literasi keagamaan di media sosial. This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the growing popularity of oral Qur’anic exegesis through digital media, particularly YouTube, which has become an effective means of conveying religious messages in a contextual and communicative manner, as demonstrated by Ustadz Musthafa Umar in his channel Kajian Tafsir Al-Ma’rifah. This study aims to analyze the oral interpretation of Q.S. An-Nur verses 32–34 presented by Ustadz Musthafa Umar through his YouTube channel Kajian Tafsir Al-Ma’rifah. The focus of the study is directed toward understanding these verses in the context of marriage, self-purity, and respect for the Qur’an, as well as how oral communication is constructed in the digital age. It analyzes the elements of orality proposed by Walter J. Ong that emerge in the delivery of this tafsir. This study is a library research study with a qualitative-descriptive approach. The theory used is Walter J. Ong’s theory of orality. This theory is used to analyze the elements of orality that appear in the interpretation. Data was collected through documentation techniques, namely by collecting primary sources in the form of videos of the interpretation of Surat An-Nur verses 32-34 by Musthafa Umar and secondary sources in the form of books, journals, and relevant articles. The results of the study indicate that Musthafa Umar's interpretation reflects secondary orality elements, such as narrative style, use of repetition, contextual approach, and emotional interaction with the audience. His interpretation also seeks to bridge the text of the Qur'an with the social reality of modern society, such as the issue of delayed marriage due to economic factors. This study emphasizes the importance of oral interpretation as an effective medium for da'wah on digital platforms, and contributes to contemporary interpretation studies and religious literacy on social media.
