Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya keadilan gender dalam interpretasi atau penafsiran keislaman pada zaman kontemporer atas kedominasian tafsir patrialkal yang meletakkan perempuan sebagai subordinat dalam urusan publik dan domestik. Ayat-ayat seperti QS. Al-Baqarah:228, QS. An-Nisa’:34, dan QS. Al-Ahzab: 33 ini sering menjadi sebagai dasar justifikasi ketimpangan gender. Fokus penelitian ini terletak pada penafsiran tiga tokoh feminis Indonesia kontemporer (Zaitunah Subhan, Nasaruddin Umar, dan Musdah Mulia) melalui pendekatan progresifnya yang berupaya mendekonstruksi tafsir bias gender. Kebaharuan penelitian ini terletak pada penonjolan tokoh feminis kekinian Indonesia yang jarang dikaji secara bersamaan, sehingga melahirkan temuan baru menganai wacana Islam Nusantara.&#13;
Metode yang peneliti gunakan adalah penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analisitis dan analisis teks. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Polifoni dan Mikhail Bakhtin dan Feminisme Islam dari Margot Badran guna untuk menelaah keberagaman suara dan menentang atau mengkritisi tafsir tunggal yang bersifat bias. Data primer penelitian ini berasal dari karya-karya tokoh feminis dan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an, sedangkan data sekundernya diambil dari berbagai buku, artikel jurnal, dan sumber yang relevan lainnya.&#13;
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa para tokoh feminis menawarkan sebuah penafsiran yang lebih inklusif, adil, dan kontekstual. Zaitunah Subhan menekankan lebih pentingnya kesetaraan berbasis pengalaman perempuan; Nasaruddin Umar menyoroti peran gender dan konstruksi sosial; kemudian, Musdah Mulia aktif dalam menyerukan tafsir yang lebih humanis dan non- patrialkal. Pendekatan ini dapat membongkar dominasi makna tunggal serta memberikan ruang untuk perempuan sebagai subjek aktid dalam menafsirkan teks keagamaan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat wacana tafsir yang progresif di Indonesia dan menjadi kontribusi dalam membangun tafsir Qur’ani yang lebih adil gender di tengah Muslim kontemporer.&#13;

Fazira Aulia Khairany, 21.11.11.021, Gender Narratives in the Indoensian Qur’an: A Critical Study of Indonesian Feminist Interpretations of Verses about Women, Qur’anic Studies and Tafsir Science Study Program, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Dakwah, Raden Mas Said State Islamic University Surakarta, 2025.&#13;
This study is motivated by the importance of gender justice in contemporary Islamic interpretation or exegesis, given the dominance of patriarchal interpretations that place women in a subordinate position in public and domestic affairs. Verses such as QS. Al-Baqarah: 228, QS. An-Nisa': 34, and QS. Al-Ahzab: 33 are often used as the basis for justifying gender inequality. This study focuses on the interpretations of three contemporary Indonesian feminists (Zaitunah Subhan, Nasaruddin Umar, and Musdah Mulia) through their progressive approaches that seek to deconstruct gender-biased interpretations. The novelty of this research lies in its highlighting of contemporary Indonesian feminist figures who are rarely studied together, thereby producing new findings regarding the discourse of Islam Nusantara.&#13;
The method used by the researcher is library research with a descriptive- analytical approach and text analysis. The theories used in this study are Mikhail Bakhtin's Polyphony Theory and Margot Badran's Islamic Feminism to examine the diversity of voices and challenge or critique single interpretations that are biased. The primary data for this study comes from the works of feminist figures and verses from the Qur'an, while the secondary data is taken from various books, journal articles, and other relevant sources.&#13;
The results of this study show that feminist figures offer a more inclusive, fair, and contextual interpretation. Zaitunah Subhan emphasizes the importance of equality based on women's experiences; Nasaruddin Umar highlights gender roles and social constructions; and Musdah Mulia actively calls for a more humanistic and non-patriarchal interpretation. This approach can dismantle the dominance of a single meaning and provide space for women as active subjects in interpreting religious texts. This research is expected to strengthen the discourse of progressive interpretation in Indonesia and contribute to the development of a more gender- equitable interpretation of the Qur'an among contemporary Muslims.&#13;
