Kurangnya pemahaman agama pada anak tunagrahita masih ditemukan di &#13;
SLB C YPSLB Surakarta, hal ini terlihat dari perlaku yang kurang sopan, belum &#13;
dapat membedakan baik buruk perbuatan, tata cara beribadah yang benar, dan &#13;
belum dapat membaca huruf hijaiyah. Orang tua menerapkan pola asuh demokratis &#13;
dalam pengajaran agama pada anak tunagrahita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk &#13;
mendeskripsikan proses pola asuh demokratis dalam pengajaran agama pada anak &#13;
tunagrahita. &#13;
Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah metode penelitian &#13;
kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpukan subjek &#13;
penelitian menggunakan purposive sampling. Subjek yaitu 3 orang tua yang &#13;
memiliki anak tunagrahita dan menerapkan pola asuh demokratis, dan 1 subjek &#13;
pendukung yaitu wali kelas. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, &#13;
wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan pengumpulan &#13;
data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. &#13;
Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, menunjukkan hasil bahwa &#13;
proses pola asuh demokratis dalam pengajaran agama pada anak tunagrahita dengan &#13;
memberikan kebebasan dalam belajar, anak berhak belajar sesuai dengan apa yang &#13;
dia inginkan. Orang tua mengajak anak untuk melakukan kegiatan keagamaaan &#13;
bersama, seperti sholat berjamaah, membaca iqro, berpuasa, dan hafalan surat &#13;
pendek serta doa sehari-hari. Tidak memaksa anak untuk belajar atau melakukan &#13;
perintah agama seperti sholat, membaca iqro, dan berpuasa, namun tetap diberikan &#13;
pengertian dan pemahaman. Orang tua dan anak melakukan diskusi komunikasi dua &#13;
arah, seperti anak bertanya dengan orang tua kemudian orang tua akan memberikan &#13;
jawaban dan penjelasan yang mudah dipahami oleh anak. Kemudian orang tua &#13;
memberikan arahan, seperti halnya ketika diberi hadiah oleh orang lain maka harus &#13;
mengucapkan terima kasih. Saat memberikan pengajaran agama melalui pola asuh &#13;
demokratis, orang tua mengajar anak dengan penuh kesabaran dan tentunya dengan &#13;
kasih sayang. &#13;

Lack of religious understanding in children with disabilities is still found at &#13;
SLB C YPSLB Surakarta, this can be seen from their disrespectful behavior, not &#13;
being able to distinguish between good and bad actions, correct worship &#13;
procedures, and not being able to read hijaiyah letters. Parents apply democratic &#13;
parenting in teaching religion to children with disabilities. This study aims to &#13;
describe the process of democratic parenting in teaching religion to children with &#13;
disabilities. &#13;
The research method used by researchers is a qualitative research method &#13;
with a phenomenological approach. The technique of collecting research subjects &#13;
using purposive sampling. The subjects are 3 parents who have children with &#13;
disabilities and apply democratic parenting, and 1 supporting subject, namely the &#13;
homeroom teacher. Data collection methods using observation, interviews, and &#13;
documentation. Data analysis techniques use data collection, data reduction, data &#13;
presentation, and conclusion drawing. &#13;
Based on the research that has been conducted, the results show that the &#13;
process of democratic parenting in teaching religion to children with disabilities by &#13;
giving freedom in learning, children have the right to learn according to what they &#13;
want. Parents invite children to do religious activities together, such as praying in &#13;
congregation, reading iqro, fasting, and memorizing short letters and daily prayers. &#13;
Parents do not force children to learn or do religious commands such as praying, &#13;
reading iqro, and fasting, but still give understanding and understanding. Parents &#13;
and children have two-way communication discussions, such as children asking &#13;
questions to parents then parents will provide answers and explanations that are &#13;
easily understood by children. Then parents provide direction, such as when given &#13;
a gift by others, they must say thank you. When providing religious teaching through &#13;
democratic parenting, parents teach children with patience and of course with love.. &#13;
