Self-confidence is a person's belief in their own abilities, qualities, and judgments in dealing with a problem. Self-confidence is an important component that must exist in a person's life, with self-confidence a person feels capable of achieving the desired goals. A person who does not have self-confidence will make his life not develop. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of client-centered counseling to increase self-confidence in inmates at Boyolali Class IIB Prison. In this study there were 10 female inmates respondents.

This study uses a quantitative true experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design model. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire with 22 statements. The sampling technique used in this study used a total sampling technique with a sample size of 10 respondents with the provisions of age 20-50 years and female gender. The instrument test in this study used the Validity Test, Item Differential Power Test, and Reliability Test. Then the data analysis technique used in the study used the Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, and Hypothesis Test wilcoxon.

The results of the research data analysis showed that the post-test and pre-test values of the experimental group were 0.042, so there was a significance value of 0.042
